Campus Director: Pearson Institute of Higher Education, Midrand

Jowilna Storm

Further to managing business units and campuses for more than 25 years, Jowilna has lectured various subjects and short learning programmes from 1st to 3rd year level and for corporate companies. She completed an MBA through the University of Wales in 2002 and was with CTI Education Group since 2010 starting off as the National Operations Manager and then becoming a Campus Director. Jowilna has worked at Technikon Witwatersrand, now University of Johannesburg, Milpark Business School and Rosebank College in a variety of functional areas as well as managing campuses.

Carl Jansen Van Vuuren

Carl, who is a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa, has had the privilege of wearing two hats since joining Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PI) in 2009. He was first appointed as Region Lead and then Campus Director before being appointed Commercial Director. Carl has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from North-West University and has worked as an Operations Manager, Marketing Executive, General Manager and Technician.

David Naidoo

David has been in the education industry for more than thirty years. He spent most of these years working as a Principal, General Manager, Campus Director, Regional Manager and CEO of several private Higher Education institutions in South Africa. David, who is currently studying towards a PhD is passionate about improving the lives of students through learning. He engages with students, parents, staff and industry partners, as often as possible, with the aim of constantly improving CTI service levels.

Thomas Thiebaut

Thomas is an alumni of CTI Education Group having completed anInformation Technology Engineering qualification with distinction in 2004. He began his career at CTI in 2005 as Campus Network Administrator. In 2006 he was promoted to Information Technology lecturer. Thomas also completed a Higher National Diploma in Information Systems Network Engineering. In 2007 he was appointed Academic Coordinator for the Information Systems department and in 2010 Academic Coordinator for Commerce and Information Technology faculties. Thomas completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems through Heriot-Watt University in 2013 before being appointed in his current position in May this year.

Jacqui Randall

Jacqui has extensive knowledge and experience in sales, training and management. Prior to her joining Pearson, she worked for various organisations including Damelin as a part-time facilitator. Jacqui joined CTI Education Group East London as a Campus Director in 2009 and progressed to become Head of Operations in Property and Facilities Management for Pearson South Africa in 2014. She been the Acting Campus Director for CTI Cape Town campus since 2016.

Cynthia Lawrence

Cynthia served as teacher for six years and three years as Head of Department for Accounting and Business Management. Cynthia was appointed as a part-time Accounting lecturer at the CTI Education Group in 2007. She has worked as an Academic Coordinator at the Bedfordview Campus for close to ten years before being Campus Director. Cynthia has acquired a number of qualifications; a Higher Diploma Education in Commerce from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology; a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting and Business Management from North-West University; a Honours degree in Education Training and Development from the University of Johannesburg as well as BCom Hons Business Management completed through the University of South Africa in 2015.

Jozef Lutjens

Jozef holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours degree from University of South Africa and has worked as an Accountant and Financial Manager in different institutions including, Price Waterhouse Meyernel Chartered Accountants, Nashua, Interstate Bus Lines and Chubb Security for over ten years. He started his own private practice called GlobalWise Financial Services before being appointed CTI Education Group Campus Director in 2005.

Acting Campus Director: Pearson Institute of Higher Education, Nelspruit

Alexander Bantjes

Alexander joined CTI Education Group Bedfordview campus as an Academic Coordinator in 2010 for four years followed by an Operations Manager appointment for the next three years. He was appointed the Facilities Lead at the Nelspruit campus in 2015 and is currently Acting as Campus Principal. Alexander has seventeen years experience in the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) of which the last four years were as a Senior Staff Officer at Chief Of Staff Finance. He spent three years at Safrich Financial Services (Micro Loans) as a National Collections Manager before becoming an Operations Director at Legal Collections Company between 2004 and 2009.

Nellie Naidoo

As a qualified Occupationally Directed - Education Training and Development Practitioner, Nellie has over twenty three years experience within the education and training field. Before joining Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PI) as Campus Director, she served at the Educor Group of companies as the National General Manager of Damelin School of Banking and Insurance. She also served in the Educor Holdings internal audit committee and as a committee member of the Standards Generating Body of the marketing chamber of Services Seta. Nellie is currently a constituent Moderator within various ETQAs in addition to serving as an external moderator at Umalusi for the National Certificate in Vocational Studies. She was appointed as a Provincial Regional Advisor for the Seta, and is registered as a chartered public relations practitioner with the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa. Nellie currently serves on the regional executive for the professional Association for Skills Development South Africa (ASDSA).

Florika Viljoen

Florika completed a Bachelor in Education at North West University, a Postgraduate diploma in higher education cum laude from the Vaal University of Technology. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Education Management from the North West University. Florika started her career as a teacher in primary and high school before progressing to higher education. Her previous experience prepared her for the Academic Coordinator role that she held at the CTI Group for over six years.

Elizna Theron

Campus Principal: Pearson Institute of Higher Education - Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape Elizna Theron joined Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PI) as an Academic Coordinator in 2010. Before that, she was a Distance Learning Lecturer and Tourism & Business Lecturer at the CTI Education Group for over four years. Until recently, Elizna was also a involved in coursework development, quality assurance and distance learning lecturing between 2008 and 2014. She graduated cum laude with a Masters degree in Marketing from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU).

Antoinette Douglas

Antoinette has been part of the Pearson Institute of Higher Education family since 2011 as an Academic Coordinator and Facilities Lead. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Human Resource Management qualification and an Honours degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Antoinette has worked for prominent organisations such as Johnson & Johnson Consumer South Africa among others. She has extensive experience and know-how in administration and Human Resources.
